Located right in the heart of Lucerne, just a few hundred meters from the train station, “Music & Art” is a fine example of a record store run by a true enthusiast. The owner is more than happy to help you find the item of your dreams, approaching the task with the eye of a connoisseur rather than a salesperson. With a highly eclectic selection— ranging from formats (vinyl, CDs, DVDs, video games, etc.) as well as musical genres (from jazz to electronic music, rock, pop, hip-hop, including a (very nice) section dedicated to German hard rock and metal — of course), the shop is welcoming and brimming with hidden gems for enthusiasts, all at very affordable prices (for example, vinyl records in perfect condition starting at €12, and rare first pressings for €30). It’s a place to keep in mind if you have the opportunity or the good fortune to visit the very pretty city of Lucerne in German-speaking Switzerland. Note that the owner — who is very friendly yet unassuming — speaks German, English, and a few words of French.
