The Leprous singer has nothing left to prove, neither in his vocal abilities nor in his mystical sensibilities, which are perfectly embodied in this short yet powerful album, to which the Norwegian Radio Orchestra lends a dimension that amplifies its impact tenfold. But what stands out in this new solo venture, titled Vox occulta, is Einar Solberg’s talent for rhythmic composition, which transforms these pieces into components of a soundtrack brimming with vocal and instrumental textures that cast a spell on you (listen to “Liberatio”!).
